The Buncombe County Golf Course is one of the busiest and oldest golf courses in Western North Carolina. It is an 18 hole golf course. The course opened for play in 1927 and was designed by Hall of Fame Golf Architect, Donald Ross.
As in all of Ross's Courses, it was designed to be challenging as well as fun. The Par 36 front nine, measuring 3,244 yards from the back tees, features a flat wide open course that allows you to use your driver on every hole.
The 3,100 yard back nine has narrow fairways. It also plays to a Par 36. Accuracy instead of distance is required for the best score on the back nine. The course rating form the white tees is 67.8 and from the blue tees it is 70.1.
The course is open daily to the general public, weather permitting. The clubhouse features a pro shop and a concession area. Memberships are available for individuals, families, juniors and seniors.
