Centrally located to the beaches of the South Brunswick Islands, Shallotte is the shopping and professional hub of this area of southeastern North Carolina. Named for the scenic Shallotte River, which winds through the town.

Shallotte is home to some excellent Golf Courses including Brunswick County's First course - Brierwood Golf Course and Arnold Palmer's latest design - River's Edge Golf Course. There are more than thirty more within a 20 minute drive and over 100 within an hour's drive.
