It was 1964 when WWAY NewsChannel 3 first signed on the air in Wilmington, North Carolina as an ABC affiliated television station. Our station was the first televison station in Wilmington to broadcast in color.
Today we are part of the Liberty Corporation. Liberty is a growing company. Based in Greenville, South Carolina, Liberty owns 15 television stations in the United States.
Our corporate philosophy is to operate strong television stations with an emphasis on news, weather coverage and public affairs. Our goal is to be an asset to the community.
