The Blue Ridge Parkway, the most visited segment of America's national parks, is a 470-mile scenic road connecting the Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive in Virginia with the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in North Carolina.
Wayside parks in the High Country include the Moses Cone Estate and craft center in Blowing Rock, Julian Price Park and Price Lake in Blowing Rock, The Linn Cove Viaduct on Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Linville Gorge near the community of Linville Falls, and the Mineral Museum in Spruce Pine.
Driving on the Parkway is free of charge. Fees are charged for the use of facilities, such as boat rentals or campsites.
