Occoneechee Scout Reservation

Directions: From Raleigh
Take US I south from Raleigh past Sanford to the US 15/501 exit to Carthage and Pinehurst. You will see the Regal Inn on your right just before you exit to the right. Take US 15/501 South to the outskirts of Carthage. Remain on NC 24/27 into Carthage. Continue through Carthage following NC 24/27. The Occoneechee Scout Camps sign is just alter leaving town.

From Durham
Take US 15/501 south from Durham past Sanford to the US 15/501 exit to Carthage and Pinehurst. You will see the Regal Inn on your right just before you exit to the right. From Fayetteville
Take NC 24 west from Fayetteville. Remain on NC 24/27 into Carthage. Continue through Carthage following NC 24/27. The Occoneechee Scout Camps sign is just after leaving town.


Occoneechee Council owns & operates two campsin Moore COunty: Camp Durant and Camp Reeves on the Occoneechee Scout Reservation just outside of Carthage, North Carolina.

Camp Durant is the Summer Camp of the Occoneechee Council, BSA, and is open to all registered scouts and scouters regardless of race, creed, or national origin. The camp is a part of the Occoneechee Scout Reservation located near Carthage, NC

Facilities include Dining Hall, Trading Post, Health Lodge, Rifle, Shotgun & Archery Ranges, shelters and latrices in every campsite (some with two shelters), Rappelling Tower and more.
