The North Carolina Museum of art has collections from all over the State of North Carolina. The state's art collection represents more than 5,000 years of artistic heritage, from ancient Egypt to present time. The collection of Renaissance and Baroque paintings, with works by Van Dyck, Jan Brueghel and Raphael, is recognized internationally. Admission to view the permanent collection is free. There is a charge for some special exhibitions.
