Located on Highway 64/74A about 25 miles southeast of Asheville, and about 18 miles east of Hendersonville.
For as long as there have been people in Hickory Nut Gorge, there has been fascination with the towering monolith known as Chimney Rock. Indians were probably the first to climb the giant rock, followed by settlers who also accepted the challenge. No one knows how many made it to the summit, but the spectacular view of the gorge and the far horizons was more than enough reward for their daring.
Chimney Rock Park is privately owned, the Park has been owned by the Morse family since 1902.
