Weymouth Center for the Arts & Humanities has flourished as a full-fledged cultural center since 1979, with an established chamber music series, lecture series and fine arts series. Our writers-in-residence program offers writers stays of up to two weeks to pursue their work. There have been over six hundred residencies here, and many writers have said their most creative periods occurred in the tranquil, inspiring atmosphere of the Boyds' home. The Chamber Music Series features nationally and internationally known chamber musicians and performers from the music facilities of North Carolina's universities. Local youth are provided an opportunity to participate in the Young Musicians competition. The Ragan Lecture Series hosts readings by a diverse group of North Carolina's highly acclaimed writers as well as the Blumenthal Writers and Readers Series. The Fine Arts Series features lectures by prominent art curators, professors and educators.
